The Winter Coat Edit

I would love nothing more than to share with you each and every one of my winter coats but unfortunately I would need about ten posts to fit them all in! Some people are addicted to buying shoes or handbags or even make-up- everyone has their weaknesses- mine is undoubtedly coats! Any style, fabric or shape you can think of, yep I’ve got it! I justify these purchases by arguing that a winter coat basically doubles up as a complete outfit, wrap yourself in an amazing coat and trust me you can get away with wearing the same basics underneath.

This oversized shearling jacket marries two qualities essential for winter: cosy yet stylish, so you actually want to wear it. It is also a close replicate of the amazing Acne motorcycle jacket, which is street style at its finest. Whilst the Acne version is absolutely stunning, its price tag most definitely is not- aren’t we lucky that high street retailers take a note of what we love and provide something that’s affordable! I bought this jacket way back at the beginning of November in Zara and I have been layering it up ever since. For those who hate parting with their leather jacket come winter this is the perfect replacement (or layering tool)!

I have styled two very different outfits to demonstrate just how versatile my style can be; my outfit choices reflect exactly who I am and how I’m feeling.  This absolutely does not mean that when I wake up feeling a little groggy I automatically throw together an all black outfit to reflect my moody vibes! I am at my most comfortable wearing colour and attention grabbing prints, hence my wardrobe is filled with such a variety.

The coats which I am wearing are both new additions this year and I have most definitely gotten my wear out of them. They are obviously extremely different but both serve their purpose. My Mum has been an avid, ‘puffa’ coat wearer since at least the 90’s, a love she has most definitely passed down to me. I purchased this white jacket way back in October, before the leaves had even fallen but it hang in the wardrobe for a month or so until the temperature dropped! When I wear this coat it honestly feels as if I am wrapped in a duvet, its lightweight yet so cosy- its definitely one of my favourites!
